The products and supplies in
this kit are designed to eliminate etch marks only from most marble, limestone,
travertine and other porous natural stones. Etch marks are acid burns
created by acids such as lemon, vinegar, citric juices, acid base cleaners,
etc. An etch mark removes the shine of a polished marble. The products
in this kit can also remove water marks. The content of this kit is deigned
to work on small areas.
Some etch marks may be too old or too deep to be eliminated. Should
these etches not come out, INTERNATIONAL STONEWORKS can remove them
with our professional grinding and polishing system
Your kit includes:
- Non-acid ETCH REMOVING & POLISHING COMPOUND (2 x 200 cc containers)
- STAIN ABSORBING COMPOUND (1 x 200 cc container)
- 1 buffing pad holder
- 2 hand buffing pads
- "LAVENET" pH-balanced stone cleaner ready to use
- Step-by-step method of application
Method of Application:
- Clean the stone surface with LAVENET and a damp sponge
- Rinse with a damp sponge and water
White and light colored natural stones:
- Mix the STAIN ABSORBING COMPOUND with undiluted bleach to a soft
paste form
- Place the mixture on the stain and cover it with a clear plastic
sheet
- Tape the edges of the plastic wrap with masking tape to keep the
moisture damp as long as possible
- 6 to 8 hours later, remove the plastic and tape and then clean the
residue with a sponge and the LAVENET stone cleaner. Rinse with cold
water
- Let the area dry for 2 to 3 hours. If the stain has diminished but
is not completely gone, repeat the procedure as often as needed
Non-white stones:
Replace the undiluted bleach with Hydrogen Peroxide (10 to 20 volume by
weight), and follow the above directions.
Note: Should stone be etched in addition to the stain, use the ETCH REMOVING
& POLISHING COMPOUND first (see "Etch Removing Kit" instructions).
