Care and Maintenance

The following recommendations should serve as a guideline.

Black Marble White Marble Terrazzo
 
Honed Limestone Polished Limestone Travertine

Black Marble, White Marble, Terrazzo, Honed Limestone, Polished Limestone, and Travertine Floors

  • Dust mop daily with an untreated mop
  • Damp mop daily with a solution of Lavenet or Lavenet Green Concentrate
  • Protect at least once a year with Seal & Go® S or Seal & Go® W, water/stain repellent penetrating sealer: this sealer will not alter the natural appearance of the stones
    • Seal & Go® S is mostly designed for exterior surfaces
    • Seal & Go® W is mostly designed for interior surfaces
  • Maintain the polish on the traffic areas with the following:
    1. Ver Glow # 1 : non-acid honing (sanding) compound to remove the fine scratches and etch (chemical burn) marks
    2. Ver Glow # 2 (non-acid) or Fivextra ® Plus (mild acid) : polishing compounds
  • For a quick touch up polish of all marble floors use Fivextra ® Cream
  • Should the surfaces need stripping use a solution of Zoom

 

Polished Granite Green Marble

Polished Granite and Green Marble Floors

  • Dust mop daily with an untreated mop
  • Damp mop daily with a solution of Lavenet or Lavenet Green Concentrate
  • Protect at least once a year with Seal & Go® S or Seal & Go® W water/stain repellent penetrating sealer: these sealers will not alter the natural appearance of the stones
    • Seal & Go® S is mostly designed for exterior surfaces
    • Seal & Go® W is mostly designed for interior surfaces
  • Maintain the polish on the traffic areas with the following:
    1. Green marbles: Emerald Sparkle and Buff & Go® Plus
    2. Polished granites: Granite Glow® and Buff & Go® Plus
  • Should the surfaces need stripping use a solution of Zoom

 

Polished Granite and Green Marble Bathroom Vanities, Walls, Kitchen Islands, Kitchen Countertops, Tub and Shower Surrounds, Tables, etc.

 

Flamed Granite Slate Flagstone

Flamed Granite, Slate, and Flagstone Floors, Bathroom Vanities, Walls, Tables, etc.

  • Dust mop or dust at least once a week with an untreated mop or cloth
  • Damp mop or sponge at least once a week with a solution of Crystal Clean. For heavy duty cleaning, use a solution of Lavenet Green Concentrate
  • To remove mildew and mold, use the Akemi Algae & Mildew Remover as needed (protect plants and vegetation)
  • Protect at least once a year with:
    1. Seal & Go® W water-based, user friendly, environmentally friendly impregnator sealer. It contains no solvents and is VOC compliant in all 50 states. Seal & Go® W is especially designed for interior stones and grout.
    2. Seal & Go® S, water/stain repellent penetrating sealer: this sealer will not alter the natural appearance of the stones: it will not add shine or color to the stones,  OR
    3. Seal & Go Enhancer S, water/stain Color Enhancer penetrating sealer: this sealer will not add shine to the surface but will darken it giving it more color  OR
    4. Seal Out: this is a topical sealer which will give shine to the surface
  • Should the surfaces need stripping use a solution of Zoom

 

Ceramic Porcelain Quarry

Ceramic, Porcelain, and Quarry Floors, Walls, etc.

  • Damp mop or sponge at least once a week with a solution of Lavenet or Lavenet Green Concentrate
  • For extra heavy duty cleaning of the tile and grout, use a solution of MDR (Mineral Deposit Remover)
  • Protect the grout at least once a year with Seal & Go® S or Seal & Go® W, water/stain repellent penetrating sealer: these sealers will not alter the natural appearance of the tile or grout
  • To remove mildew and mold, use the Akemi Algae & Mildew Remover as needed (protect plants and vegetations)
  • To polish ceramic and porcelain tiles without wax use the Tile Glow ® system (Tile Glow # 1 and Tile Glow # 2)
  • Should the surfaces need stripping use a solution of Zoom
